My Bio

For those I’ve had class with before, good to see you again. For those I’ve never worked with, hello and nice to meet you. My name is Keith Davis. This is my fifth class in pursuit of the M.Ed. in Educational Technology at USC Aiken and I am looking forward to getting started. . So far, I’ve enjoyed it. As far as what the future holds for me academically, I’d like to continue after my Masters and pursue a Doctorate. But there might be a little time off in between.

In 2009, I retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service. It is in the Navy where I developed a love for teaching. I completed two tours as a combat systems instructor in a traditional “brick-and-mortar” school and I also served as a shipboard trainer. During those tours, I earned my designation as a Master Training Specialist and was involved with curriculum revision and design. Besides being an instructor, I also served in several operational units and completed four tours in the Middle East stretching from Desert Shield/Storm through to the War on Terrorism. I also participated in several Counter-Narcotic Operations in the Caribbean and around South America. While in the Navy, I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Workforce Education and Development.

I left the Navy and now I’m in my third year as a high school teacher at North Augusta High School in North Augusta, SC. The subject I teach is Naval Science. Some of you might know it as ROTC. Being a High School teacher is exciting and frustrating at times. Motivating teenagers is definitely a challenge.

About me personally, I am married and we have four daughters, four grand-daughters, and two dogs. Our kids are 26, 24, 15, and 9. (Don’t ask, we don’t know what we were thinking either) Just kidding, we wouldn’t trade them for the world. My two oldest are married and each have two daughters. Our other kids are a five year old black Lab named Bear and a nine month old Chihuahua named Pablo. In our off time we enjoy boating, camping, and playing outside. Life is never boring. Well, that’s a little about me, I’m looking forward to the class and working with you all.
